MANILA, Philippines – “Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited” big winner Slater Young said he is ready to learn the ropes of show business.

In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Young said he is excited to get into the entertainment industry because it has really been his dream.

“I’d really love to try my hand at showbiz,” he said.

Young said he would like to work with actresses Anne Curtis, KC Concepcion and Kim Chiu if given the chance.

While he acknowledged that there are a lot of talented and good-looking actors in the industry, he said he believes he can still shine in tough world of showbiz.

“I’d like to think I have something different to offer. Napakita ko naman sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, I have the brains,” he said.

Cloud nine

Meanwhile, the “PBB” winner said every thing hasn’t sunk in yet and that he is still in cloud nine after the "PBB Unlimited: Big Night" on Saturday.

“Parang panaginip pa rin lahat grabe from last night until here, being with you. From 'ASAP' kanina, hindi ko in-expect ito. It doesn’t seem real talaga,” he said.

Young also thanked his family and supporters who supported him while he was inside the “PBB” house.

“Big thanks to my family and to all the people that supported me. Speechless ako especially last night pero thank you so much. You made my dream come true,” he said.

Young's father, who admitted he was hesitant to allow his son to join the reality show, said he will support Slater's showbiz dreams.

"Be a good boy... when you're in showbiz, always recall to this moment why people voted you in and you should follow those direction.. don't try to be somebody else and be yourself. ," Young's father told ABS-CBN News.

The proud father also thanked the fans who supported his son, noting that usually the poorer contestants win in the show.

"But this time they looked for who's deserving, poor or not. They just picked the most deserving... and we're happy," he said.

"He showed his character, he did not changed anything just to win. He was just himself," he added.

Big winner

The Cebuano engineer got an astounding 40.02% of the total number of text votes, to make him the first male Big Winner of the regular edition of the country’s most successful reality show.

He took home a P2-million cash prize, an appliance showcase, an Asian tour package, an Internet TV, a water-refilling store franchise, and a special appearance in a Kapamilya program in the United States.

Pamu Pamorada of Batangas finished second after gaining 21.49% of the votes. Trailing by only 10 percentage points of the votes was third placer Joseph Biggel, who got 21.39% percent of the votes, while former house player and wildcard housemate Paco Evangelista came fourth with 17.10% of the votes.

The successful Big Night ruled the trending topics on Twitter, with the term ‘Congrats Slater’ peaking at number one worldwide.

In the Philippines, the hashtag #PBBTheBigNight was the most discussed on the micro-blogging site during the show and hours after it ended.

"Big Night"-related terms that trended globally and locally on Twitter also included ‘Toni Gonzaga in PBBBigNight,’ ‘Iza Calzado,’ ‘El Gamma Penumbra,’ ‘Riggel,’ ‘Go Pamu,’ ‘Quirino Grandstand,’ ‘#PBBTeenEdition,’ ‘Slater or Pamu,’ ‘Hopeless Romantic,’ and ‘Name People,’ a phrase famously exclaimed by Young and Evangelista during the M6 week.
