THE METRO 24

Over the last few decades, we've encountered faces so captivating, they've etched themselves indelibly onto our memories. As Metro celebrates its 24th year, we've asked 24 of the most iconic faces in modeling to show off their best moves, while wearing the creations of 24 fashion designers who we believe are poised to take the reins of the industry leaders and steer it into a new era. Wearing designs geared towards the needs and wants of the modern Filipino, the most memorable women in fashion transcend the roles we've come to know them for, and prove that they're more than just pretty hangers for dresses.

CATRIONA GRAY

This 19-year-old Fil-Aussie wunderkind came out of nowhere in 2012 and broke into the industry immediately by appearing in commercials for Nestle, SMART, Pond's, and Myra Vitawhite, while booking campaigns for The Ramp Crossings, Shapes, and Bench in no time, thanks to her soft, doe-eyed beauty. But it was really when she opened Michael Cinco's "Fearless" segment in Bench Universe 2012 fashion show by belting out Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts that proved she not only could she be the next "it" model - she also had the makings of a star. "I was a bit hesitant to get into music at first, because I really didn't want to be one of those girls who people look at and say 'Oh, she's just a pretty face; she's not really an artist.' There are enough pretty girls out there doing ordinary songs [and] it's important to have artistry in what I do, so I like to experiment when it comes to my songs." At the moment, she's fronting the campaign for Mich Dulce's capsule collection for Bench.

Thanks Metro!
